Bettina Drummond Invited to International Colloquia on French Riding Tradition

 

Washington, Conn. – Local equestrian Bettina Drummond, a dressage trainer and rider formed in the French riding tradition, is the sole American invited to a two-day colloquia focused on promoting understanding of the French system of riding. The colloquia is being sponsored by the French Ministry of Culture and hosted by the French Institute of Horses and Horse Riding (IFCE) and the French National School of Equitation at Saumur. The event is being held Oct. 15-16 in Saumur, France and brings together many of the current masters of the French tradition for two days of discussions and demonstrations aimed at deepening knowledge and understanding of this equestrian cultural tradition.

Global Co-op of Equestrians Launch New Educational Program

 

Bettina and Q 3Washington, Conn. – A global co-op of equestrians, with its base in Connecticut, has joined forces to fill a vital gap in equestrian education – guiding current and future generations of riders onto the pathway that leads to lightness. The kick-off event for the new educational program, open to all with an interest in how to achieve the tact and finesse that leads to lightness in riding, is scheduled to be held August 30-31 at Windhorse International in Bethlehem, Connecticut. The event will feature demonstrations of the training techniques that lead to lightness and Dr. Jane Marie Manfredi, of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, will present results from decades of research on equine biomechanics conducted by a team led Dr. Hilary Clayton.

Brooklyn, NY – The Lusitano stallion Quemacho went where no horse has gone before showing just how talented and adaptable he really is. Sporting a pink ribbon in his forelock in memory of his late owner, Ingred Lin, who died from cancer, Quemacho made history at a popular New York City arts studio.
